Approximately 2,500 acres are farmed in-hand at Wykeham, the business having commenced in 1954. Its main period of expansion was during the 1970’s and 1980’s when 3,000 areas were farmed (arable and dairy) but a review took place in 2000 and the dairy unit (450 acres) was let.
The arable rotation comprises wheat, oil seed rape and potatoes. 150 acres is producing energy crops (miscanthus) supplying Brigg Renewable Energy Plant.
David Edwards provides the management, and local contractors are employed to carry out the field work.
Wykeham Farms has entered into a Countryside Stewardship Scheme.
