A beautiful self-catering holiday cottage in Danby, North Yorkshire, perfect for families or couples.
The North Yorkshire Moors are well known for their heather moorland, steep grassland dales and stone and pantile houses which stretch from the Cleveland Hills in the west to the high cliffs and coastal villages and towns in the East. The River Esk flows towards the wonderful old whaling port of Whitby which is just 30 mins from the holiday cottage.
The Danby Moors are the perfect place to relax and unwind, but for the more active, local attractions include Danby Castle, the Moors Centre and the attractive villages of Castleton, Danby and Lealholm with their shops, pubs and churches.
Further afield there are plenty of ancient towns and cities to visit as well as attractions such as Castle Howard, Duncombe Park, Scampston Walled Gardens and Rievaulx Abbey.
Both fishing (trout, sea trout and salmon) and shooting are available locally and there are miles of walking, riding or cycling routes.
