In the pretty village of Sawdon on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, you will find The Anvil Inn at the heart of the village.
A bit off the beaten track, but then the best places usually are! A working forge from the early 1700s until 1985, this beautiful stone building retains much of the charm of days gone by. The soaring ceiling in the bar – the original blacksmith’s workshop – the furnace, the anvil, the bellows, all remain as they were.
Sit yourself down on the old pew and enjoy a pint of real ale or a glass of wine after a walk through the dale with its beautiful springtime rhododendrons, or relax in the pretty beer garden and enjoy a glorious Sawdon sunset.
We serve the finest food created with passion and care, the cream of Yorkshire beers, and a wine list with something to suit everyone.
